NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Prairie View A&M volleyball team fell 3-0 to Bethune Cookman in the final match at the UNO Invitational.
"The blocking improved today," said PVAMU head volleyball coach
TaCho Tyler. "We just need to bring it all together in order to earn a win. We will continue to keep chipping away at our mistakes and go back to the gym to work on fundamentals if that's what we need to do."
Freshman Jaelyn Oakes took the charge on the offense for the Lady Panthers posting a season high eight kills. She also had seven digs and a service ace to add to her numbers. Senior Christine Augustine led the defensive charge with 11 digs. She also had a service ace and one assist in the match.
"I was impressed with the play of Jaelyn," Tyler said. "She stepped up as a freshman and led the team in kills. I hope that she continues her play and the rest of the hitters step up as well."
Prairie View A&M will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 11 when they travel to Beaumont to face Lamar for a 6:30 p.m. first set.
