MOBILE, Ala. — The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team fell 64-52 to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to conclude the Preseason WNIT Friday evening.

Kennedy Paul all posted six points each.
Perez buried a three to open up scoring for the Panthers in the first quarter but the Islanders responded with a 10-2 run. Newman connected from beyond the arc and brought Prairie View A&M within a bucket, but Texas A&M-Corpus Christi managed to extend its lead to eight heading into the second quarter.
After struggling in the first two minutes of the second period, Williams led a 7-4 Prairie View A&M run to bring the Panthers within 28-19. As the Panthers' defense turned it up a notch to keep the Islanders without a basket over the final four minutes of the half, Peters powered a 10-0 surge to bring Prairie View A&M within three at 34-31 going into halftime.
A 6-0 Lady Panther run gave the team their second lead of the game at 37-36 with just over six minutes remaining in the third quarter. The score was tied at 37-37, before the Islanders pulled ahead with an 8-0 spurt regained a 45-37 lead. Back-to-back buckets from Newman and freshman

The Panthers came out strong in the fourth quarter, using an 8-0 run to take a 50-47 lead, but the Islanders pulled ahead for good with a 12-0 run. Two free throws from Peters brought the team closer at 52-59, but Prairie View A&M was unable to close the gap in the final moments.
Next, the Panthers will face the University of Arizona on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. in Tucson, Ariz.
