PRAIRIE VIEW – After a week off, Prairie View A&M men's basketball is back in action Saturday evening as the Panthers head to the University of Texas - San Antonio for a contest against the Roadrunners.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. from the UTSA Convocation Center.

The Panthers (2-5) come into the game primed to build upon a 78-72 overtime win over Central Arkansas. Senior Gerard Andrus has been on a tear over the past two games, averaging 22.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game on 58.8 percent shooting after an all-tournament performance during the 2K Empire Classic.

Andrus, who scored a team-high 28 points in the win over the Bears, leads the Panthers in scoring at 13.4 points per night. He is shooting 53.6 percent from the floor and has corralled five boards per game. Senior Chancellor Ellis is second on the team at 12.7 points per game while shooting 42.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Junior Lennell Henry has been the top force on the glass for the Panthers, pulling down a team-best 8.3 rebounds per game.

This will be the sixth meeting between the two teams. In the most recent contest, Prairie View A&M dropped a 69-59 decision in 2016. The Panthers are 1-5 all-time against the Roadrunners, with four of the defeats coming on the road.

Scouting the Competition:
- UTSA has started slow this season, sporting a 1-5 record so far. However, the Roadrunners found the winner's column in their last outing with a 90-68 blowout over Wiley College in UTSA's home opener.

- The Roadrunners boast a formidable 1-2 punch in the backcourt, led by Jhivvan Jackson, who leads Conference USA in scoring at 24.8 points per game, a mark good for seventh-best in the country. Keaton Wallace has had a strong season for UTSA as well, averaging 13.2 points, 4.8 boards and 4.0 assists per game.
