12/29/2019 11:18:00 PM

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Following a 10-day respite, Prairie View A&M women's basketball returns to action against Huston-Tillotson Dec. 30 in the Baby Dome as part of double-header action and Teachers' Appreciation Day. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

Prairie View A&M (2-9) will try to halt a five-game slide. During this stretch, the Panthers hope to improve their offensive efforts, as Prairie View A&M has been held to less than 50 points in four of its past five games.

The Panthers are coming off a 68-42 stumble at Wisconsin on Dec. 20. Senior Bernesha Peters continues to perform admirably as the leading scorer, averaging 11.2 points per game. Peters scored 12 points against the Badgers and is averaging 15.0 points per night over her last three games.

The onus will be on a secondary scorer to emerge as the Panthers look to get through its final non-conference game prior to entering conference play. Freshman Kennedy Paul has come on strong, ranking second on the team in scoring at 8.6 points per game and pulling down 4.2 boards per game.

Fellow freshman Diana Rosenthal is averaging 7.1 points per game and leads the team with a 40 percent clip from three-point range.

Prairie View A&M boasts a 9-1 record over its past 10 home games dating back to the 2018-19 season.
