PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M baseball team dropped their Tuesday afternoon match-up to the Incarnate Word Cardinals at Tankersley Field.
The Panthers got on the board in the fourth inning, when a home run by
Xavier Jefferson brought in
Alex Martinez for back-to-back scores. The team's deficit was lessened to 5-2 as they closed out the frame.
The bases were loaded in the bottom of the fifth inning, when a single to right field by
Kellen Rodgers, allowed
Andrew Garcia to touch home plate for the team's third and final run of the game.
Jefferson led with two hits gathering two RBIs while going 2-for-3 at bat.
The Panthers will return to the field on Friday, May 3 to face Southern in a three game series. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Tankersley Field.
