PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M men's team dropped a 7-0 contest against the University of Incarnate Word Friday at the PVAMU Tennis Courts.

Sophomore Jorge Juarez Caballero and senior Xavier Lawrence earned the only set point for the Panthers, defeating their doubles opponents 7-5. Junior Rodrigo Yoshikata and Freshman Juan Malham Viada dropped their match 6-3, and Kevin Ugarteche and Tyrese Washington lost their contest 6-2.

The Panthers were unable to get going in singles play despite solid efforts by Caballero, who fell 6-2, 6-4, and Lawrence, who dropped his match 6-4, 6-2. Viada lost his match 6-2, 6-3. Yoshikata fell in his contest 6-1, 6-2. Ugarteche fell by scores of 6-2, 6-4. Washington rounded out the competition with a 6-0, 6-1 loss.

The Panthers will head to Beaumont, Texas as they take on Oral Roberts in a doubleheader contest Saturday at 10 a.m.
