PRAIRIE VIEW – Prairie View A&M men's basketball looks to stay on top of the league standings as the Panthers trek to Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State.

Most recently, Prairie View A&M topped Grambling State 75-69 and handed Jackson State a nationally-televised 70-61 defeat on ESPNU.

Panther News and Notes:
- Senior
Gerard Andrus won his second player of the week honor in as many weeks, taking the Southwestern Athletic Conference's Men's Basketball Player of the Week award after averaging 20.0 points to go along with 6.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists over the course of the week.
- The Panthers have three players ranked top-10 individually in steals per game: senior
Devonte Patterson (1.5 SPG; 5th), Andrus (1.4 SPG, 7th), and senior
Darius Williams (1.4 SPG, 9th). As UAPB commits the most turnovers on a nightly basis among league teams, this could bode well for the Panthers' aggressive defense.
- The Panthers boast the nation's second-longest active winning streak at home. Prairie View A&M has won 24 straight contests at the Baby Dome.
Scouting UAPB:
- Though UAPB is mired in a 10-game slide, the Golden Lions have the top-ranked scoring defense in the league, surrendering 67.9 points per game. Additionally, UAPB is No. 3 in the SWAC in terms of blocks per game at 3.32 swats per night.
- Markedric Bell is statistically the top offensive option for the Golden Lions, averaging 9.5 points and 4.6 boards per game.
Scouting MVSU:
- The Delta Devils come into the game with the lowest-ranked scoring defense in the SWAC, allowing 90.8 points per game. Opponents are shooting 48 percent from the field against Mississippi Valley State.
- However, the Panthers will have to contend with the highest-scoring duo in the SWAC in Michael Green (17.1 PPG) and Caleb Hunter (14.3 PPG) Green and Hunter rank second and sixth, respectively, in points per game.
