PRAIRIE VIEW – The 2020 Southwestern Athletic Conference Regular Season Champion Prairie View A&M men's basketball team will start its trek toward history this Tuesday.
There, the top-seeded Panthers (18-13, 14-4) take on No. 8 seed Alabama A&M (8-21, 5-13 SWAC) at 5:30 p.m. in the Baby Dome.
The Panthers swept this season's series over the Bulldogs – with both wins coming by double-digits -- and have won six straight games versus Alabama A&M. This will be the first time the teams have met in the league tournament since 2014, where the Panthers prevailed 55-49 in the semifinal round.

- Prairie View A&M looks to make it to at least the semifinal round for the sixth time in the last eight seasons. Additionally, the Panthers look to improve on a 26-game home winning streak, the second-longest active streak of its kind in the country.
- Senior
Devonte Patterson ranks third in the conference in scoring and rebounding at 15.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, respectively. Fellow senior
Gerard Andrus is sixth in scoring at 14.9 points per game and has scored in double-digits in 25 of a possible 31 games this season.
- The Panthers are eighth nationally in turnovers forced at 17.5 a game.
Scouting the Opposition:
- Alabama A&M comes into the tournament hoping to a halt a tough stretch that has seen the Bulldogs drop four of their past five games.
- Cameron Alford and Garrett Hicks will be called upon to lead the AAMU offense, as Alford leads the team with a 13.8 points-per-game average and Hicks accounts for 11 points a night.
