BOX SCORE PRAIRIE VIEW – With five players in double-figures, Prairie View A&M (6-4, 5-0 SWAC) took down Alabama A&M (4-1, 2-1 SWAC) 79-57 Saturday afternoon during Southwestern Athletic Conference action in the Baby Dome.

How it Happened:
A back-and-forth battle early on, Prairie View A&M managed to gain some distance as Jeremiah Gambrell's second three of the half keyed a 10-0 run to put the Panthers up 24-13 with 5:47 left before the break. The Bulldogs refused to go quietly, but with Lenell Henry off to a dominant start, the Panthers' defensive prowess proved too tough to solve through the first half as Prairie View A&M carried a 32-20 lead to the lockers.

The Panthers opened the second half with a quick 6-0 spurt and looked poised to run away with the game after growing their lead to as many as 19. The Bulldogs made a charge midway through the period, cutting the deficit to 11, but the Panthers regrouped via the long ball and boosted their advantage to as many as 24. From there, the Panthers cruised and were never threatened down the stretch.

Key Stats:
Gambrell led the team with 18 points along with five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Cam Mack scored 15 points and dished out 11 assists.
