Soccer Routes Alabama State to Keep Streak Alive

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers put on a show in Montgomery as they keep their win streak alive in SWAC play after a 4-1 victory over defending SWAC Champions Alabama State Sunday afternoon.

 

How it Happened: 
Jojo Bernal put the lady panthers ahead early scoring the first goal of the game at the 4 minute mark.  The second score for the Lady Panthers came from Lesa Griffin, assisted by Bety Hernandez-Ortega at the 16 minute mark. Andrea Nugent found the net for the third goal just before the end of the first half.

The final goal for PVAMU was scored by Savannah Powell at the 65 minute mark to give the team their fourth consecutive league win.
 

Post Game Notes:
Goalie Medinat Lawal finished the game with four saves.

The Lady Panthers had 23 total shots including 9 shots on goal.

Prairie View A&M will return home for Senior Night as they host the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff on October 8 for a 7pm kick at the PVAMU Soccer Complex.
