STILLWATER, Okla. -- The Prairie View Men's Basketball team had a rough Monday night visit at Texas Tech, down by as much as 22 points in the 1
st half on the way to a 49-84 final score.
How it Happened:
The Panthers managed to keep things relatively even within the first four minutes of the game at 8-8 before a 13-3 run by the Red Raider's giving them a 10-point lead midway through the first. A 3-pointer from
D'Rell Roberts and a 3-point play by Doug Williams cut the lead down to just five but it wasn't enough to stop Texas Tech the rest of the way, going into half 45-23 with the Cowboys on top.
PV was led by Roberts who scored 12 points on 5-of-15 shooting, adding a team-high 3 steals and 4 rebounds in the contest.
Jawaun Daniels (10) and
Brian Myles (9) were the next two leading scorers for the Panthers, combining for 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field.
PV falls to 0-5 on the season, shooting 18-47 (38.3 percent) from the field for the game and hit 4-of-19 (21.1 percent) from long range. The Panthers hit 9-of-18 (50 percent) from the free throw line.
Prairie View heads to Phoenix, Arizona to take on GCU Wednesday, November 17
th, with tip off scheduled for 8 p.m.
