PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M men's basketball team (9-4, 8-0 SWAC) defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff (3-18, 2-10 SWAC) 72-56 Tuesday night during Southwestern Athletic Conference action in the Baby Dome.
How it Happened:
The Panthers stormed out of the gate on the strength of the three-ball and slick passing from Cam Mack that led to easy buckets. Though the Panthers nearly overran the Golden Lions with a 21-4 run to begin the game, Arkansas-Pine Bluff continued to hang around, chipping away at the Panthers' advantage. The Golden Lions got as close as nine before Lenell Henry scored from close to send the Panthers to the lockers up 35-24.
The Golden Lions made a push to open the second half, cutting the Panthers' lead to seven. But that run was short-lived as Prairie View A&M responded with a 16-4 surge to go up as many as 19. The Panthers cruised, leading by at least 14 the rest of the way.
