BOX SCORE 2 PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M softball team dropped both sides of a doubleheader to Tarleton State Wednesday afternoon, falling 7-3 in game one and 9-1 in game two.
How it Happened:
GAME 1 (7-3 Tarleton State): Down 3-0 after two innings, the Panthers capitalized on a Texans error during a
Gabrielle Fonseca single that scored
Ryleigh Love and
Alexandria Lewis.
Alyssa Garcia drew a walk to load the bases but the Panthers weren't able to cash in. From there, Tarleton State scored four unanswered runs over the next 2.5 innings. In the sixth inning,
Maddison Parker delivered a RBI single to close the gap a bit, but the Panthers got no closer.
GAME 2 (9-1 Tarleton State, F/5): After Parker put the Panthers on the board with a RBI double that scored Love, Tarleton State responded with nine unanswered runs over the course of the game, including a four-run third inning. With the Panthers unable to put the bats on the ball down the stretch, Tarleton ultimately ended the game on a sacrifice fly.
