PVAMU News and Notes:
- The Lady Panthers have not faced Tarleton State since 1997.

- The Lady Panthers return a quartet of all-conference players: infielder Gabrielle Fonseca, catcher Serena Antone, outfielder Cameron Lavergne and infielder Kyra Lunford. 

- The Lady Panthers picked up 80 points as the preseason favorite in the SWAC Western Division, besting Texas Southern (69). Southern (48), Grambling State (40) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (27) rounded out the order of finish.

Scouting Tarleton State:
- Tarleton State is currently 0-6 on the season, but has played stiff competition, including #11 Oklahoma State and #3 Oklahoma. This will be the team's home opener.

- Katy Schaefer has been on a tear to open the season, hitting .438 with four RBI thus far. Shelby Carter and Jordan Dickerson are each hitting over .300 to begin the year as well.
