BOX SCORE BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Thanks to a career effort by Jawaun Daniels, the Prairie View A&M men's basketball team (15-4) had no trouble with Mississippi Valley State as the Panthers dominated the Delta Devils 91-64 Wednesday evening to begin the Cricket Wireless SWAC Tournament.

How it Happened:
It was all Panthers from the opening tip, as the defending champions began the game with an 11-4 run. Daniels was utterly dominant, punishing the Delta Devils on offense as he outscored them on his own 20-19 through the first 16 minutes of play. With the Panthers largely unable to miss in what would become their finest offensive effort of the season, the champs went into the locker room up 51-30.

The Panthers cruised from there, as Daniels buried a pair of treys to begin the second half and push the lead to as many as 25. The junior made four three-pointers in the half as Prairie View A&M was never threatened, easily punching its ticket to its fourth consecutive semifinal round.

Key Stats:
Daniels posted a career-high 36 points along with six rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals. Cam Mack scored 13 points with five assists. The Panthers had 10 different players score in the rout.

Caleb Hunter led Mississippi Valley with 17 points.
