PVAMU Baseball falls at Baylor

WACO, Texas – The Prairie View A&M baseball team (2-11) dropped a 12-2 decision at Baylor Wednesday evening in Baylor Ballpark.

How It Happened:
After a hit batsman set up Baylor's first run of the game, Prairie View A&M tied the game as Keanu Maldonado scored on a pick-off attempt. However, Baylor added three runs in the bottom of the second inning and scored once in the fourth. Prairie View A&M responded in the top of the fifth when as Xavier Jefferson was hit by a pitch and later stole second before a single from Alex Martinez moved him to third.

A Brayden Johnson sacrifice fly brought Jefferson home, but the Panthers stranded a pair of runners in the frame. From there, Baylor pulled away, scoring five runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh.

Key Stats:
Andrew Garcia, Tyler Gordon and K. Maldonado each had a base hit. Roberto Maldonado was charged with the loss, allowing five runs in 3.2 innings.

NEXT UP:
Prairie View A&M returns to action this weekend in conference play, taking on Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
