BOX SCORE PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M softball team dropped a 10-1 decision to Stephen F. Austin Wednesday afternoon at the PVAMU Softball Complex.
How it Happened:
The Panthers fell behind early as the Ladyjacks used the long ball to build a 6-0 lead after the first inning. After surrendering a pair of home runs that led to a 9-0 deficit, Lady Panthers reliever
Chaynau Johnson regrouped with effective relief pitching in the middle innings to hold the Ladyjacks quiet outside of a fifth-inning homer.
However, the Lady Panthers were unable to figure out Stephen F. Austin starter Kassidy Wilbur and wasn't able to mount an offensive charge – despite scrapping a run across late – to overtake the visitors.
Johnson struck out four in 4.1 innings of work.
Ryleigh Love had the lone hit for Prairie View A&M.
