BATON ROUGE, La. – Jojo Bernal delivered the Lady Panthers goal on Sunday afternoon off of an assist from
Bety Hernandez-Ortega and
Jenesis Vasquez to break a scoreless tie and give the Lady Panthers a 1-0 victory over the Southern Lady Jaguars.
How it Happened:
Prairie View A&M struck early in the first half at the 22
nd mark and Bernal placed it into the box, giving the Lady Panthers the 1-0 win in conference play.
Post-Game Notes:
- PV took a season high of 25 shots
- 10 different PVAMU players took shots; Bernal took six shots with four shots on goal; Andrea Nugent (two on goal) and Savannah Powell took four shots apiece.
Prairie View A&M will continue Southwestern Athletic Conference play when they travel south to Alabama to face Alabama A&M Oct. 1 for a 3 p.m. first kick.
