CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – In a midweek contest the Prairie View A&M baseball team took on Texas A&M in the opening week of their March schedule.

• The Islanders scored runs in the first, second and fifth innings.
• Five players had hits, but neither one was able to get across the plate.
• Christian Mendez, Alex Martinez, Paul Castro, Sebastian Coria and Zachary Trevino each finished with one hit apiece.

 
Samuel Denker stared on the mound and was credited with the loss.  Justin Maxcey throw 1.0 innings out of the bullpen giving up one run.  Ty Tubbs pitch two innings giving up only one walk after facing seven batters, prior to Devin Aguado closing the contest out facing four batters and not allowing a single hit, or walk.
 
The Panthers will now turn their attention to New Mexico State for a four game series in Las Cruces, NM, with the first pitch set for Friday, March 4 at 4 p.m. CT.
