WACO, TEXAS – The Prairie View A&M softball team completed a mid-week doubleheader falling 9-0, and 3-2 to the Baylor Bears on Tuesday, at the Getterman Stadium.
Game 1: Baylor 9, PVAMU 0
- The first game of the day was a struggle for PVAMU has they were unable to get a hit and allow the Bears a no-hitter, along with a shutout.
- Baylor scored four runs in the first inning, two in the second and three in the fourth to end the contest in five innings.

Mya Hall went the distance for the Lady Panthers pitching four complete innings striking out one batter, and allowing one walk in the contest
Game 2: Baylor 3, PVAMU 2
- In game two PV fared well to go a complete game in this contest.
- The Lady Panthers went scoreless through the first three innings, while host team Baylor took a 2-0 early advantage.
- PVAMU was able to plate a run in the top of the fourth on a Jerrica Rojas single to right field scoring freshman Cailin Massey, who reached base on a single up the middle to make the score 2-1, still in favor of the Bears.
- Neither team scored in the fourth, but in the bottom of the fifth Baylor would score one run to advance their lead 3-1. The Lady Panthers were able to answer in the top of the sixth, after Massey reached base on an error, and before Jaylyn Davis singled to right field advancing Massey.
- Karina Cisneros singled down the left field line scoring Massey to plate their final run, as the Bears clinched the 3-2 win.
Massey (0-3) had the complete game loss on the mound, giving up two walks and striking out two across 6.0 innings pitched. Rojas went 2-for-3, while Cisneros was 1-for-3 both picking up and RBI in the contest.
The Lady Panthers will continue play when they visit host team Houston Baptist for a two day tournament. They will face Brown University with the first pitch set for 12 p.m. in Houston, Texas at the HBU Softball Field.
