PV Volleyball Coaches Complete Two Day Camps

PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M coaching staff hosted their first camps on the campus of Prairie View A&M in quite some time, welcoming over 90 campers in the two day event Tuesday and Wednesday.

"I was so excited about having this camp, because we had planned to have a camp in 2020 (COVID-19 Year), but was not able to and had not had a camp on campus in many, many years," exclaimed head PVAMU Volleyball Coach TaCho Tyler.  "Bringing the camp back has been amazing.  We had over 20 middle school campers on Tuesday and that was great and then Wednesday having over 70 campers of high school aged young ladies made this week super awesome! This was the first camp ever put on by PVAM coaches here on campus, and it was a wonderful experience, with super high energy and I loved it!  I actually had to close the camp off, because we had so many request on the waitlist.  So hopefully next year we can get another day in for the high school campers."

"As a former player as well as a former coach, I am really excited about how the game of volleyball has evolved," said Assistant Athletic Director/SWA Alicia Pete.  "I was really excited about seeing the number of campers that were here.  I think Coach Tyler is doing an outstanding job as far as representing the University and bringing new potential players here on campus."

The Lady Panthers will report to campus on August 8 to begin training for the upcoming season that starts on August 26 when they head to Beaumont for a two-day tournament.
