Softball Falls to Tarleton State in Doubleheader Affair

GAME 1 | Tarleton State 10, Prairie View A&M 0

STEPHENVILLE, TX --The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers were not able to score a run against Tarleton State pitcher senior Tristan Bridges on Wednesday and were shut out 10-0 by the Texans.

Junior Breanna Reyna (0-3) started and took the loss in the circle for Prairie View A&M (0-6). Sophomore Hailey Elizarraras was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 1.1 shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking none, and striking out one.

At the plate, the Lady Panthers were paced by freshman Mariah Redmond, who went 0-for-0 on the day with two walks.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Prairie View A&M didn't manage to advance a runner past first base in the ballgame.

GAME NOTES

» Prairie View A&M pitchers faced 28 Tarleton State hitters in the game, allowing eight ground balls and two fly balls while striking out one.

Softball dropped its second game in the evening affair with a 6-0 loss to the Texans.

Sophomore Cailin Massey (0-3) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (0-7) and took the loss. Sophomore Hailey Elizarraras was a bright spot for the Lady Panthers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 1.1 shutout innings, allowing no hits, with no walks and one strikeout.

Freshman Kamaya Brown led the way offensively for the Lady Panthers, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame.

Prairie View A&M didn't managed to advance a runner past first base in the ballgame.
