LAKE CHARLES, La. --The Prairie View A&M Panthers took a 10-8 lead into the ninth inning, but could not hold on and fell 11-10 to the McNeese Cowboys Sunday.
Senior Joshua Larzabal (0-1) took the loss on the mound for Prairie View A&M (2-15).
Sophomore Alex Diaz led the way offensively for the Panthers, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame with a home run, two walks and two RBI. Junior Andre Jackson put together a standout performance as well, going 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Senior Sebastian Coria also contributed, going 3-for-5 for Prairie View A&M with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 2-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the third inning.
Prairie View A&M's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a one-run single off the bat of sophomore Benjamin Ybarra.
The Cowboys failed to push any runs across before the Panthers offense got back to their scoring ways the next inning.
