GAME 1 | SFA 7, Prairie View A&M 6

NACOGDOCHES, Texas --M. Nunez collected four hits, but the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers fell to the SFA Ladyjacks 7-6 on Tuesday.

K. Herrera (0-1) came out of the bullpen for Prairie View A&M (4-14) and took the loss.

In addition to her four hits, Nunez had two doubles and two RBI to lead the Lady Panthers. A. Talley put together a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. H. Garza also helped out for Prairie View A&M, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lady Panthers got the scoring started early, putting two runs on the board in the top of the first inning. Prairie View A&M plated two runs when Talley left the yard with Nunez aboard.

The Ladyjacks then rallied to score four runs and take a 4-2 lead before the Lady Panthers got back on the board in the fifth. Prairie View A&M plated two runs off of SFA pitching, punctuated by a run-scoring double off the bat of Nunez, which evened the score at 4-4.

That 4-4 tie turned into a 6-4 Prairie View A&M lead in the seventh. The Lady Panthers notched two runs off of SFA pitching, punctuated by a run-scoring double from. The Lady Panthers were unable to hold the lead, as SFA scored three times in the bottom half of the seventh to grab the 7-6 win.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas --Prairie View A&M ran into a buzzsaw in the circle Tuesday as B. Gainous tossed a no-hitter with four strikeouts for SFA, leading the Ladyjacks past the Lady Panthers 9-0.

H. Elizarraras (1-5) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (4-15) and took the loss.

R. Lewis led the way offensively for the Lady Panthers, going 0-for-0 in the ballgame.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Prairie View A&M didn't manage to advance a runner past first base in the ballgame.
