GAME 2 | Prairie View A&M 16, Alcorn State 3
LORMAN, Miss. --Sophomore Matthew Krall was dominant on Sunday, striking out nine Alcorn State hitters over six innings of work to help lead the Prairie View A&M Panthers past the Braves 16-3.
In addition to his nine strikeouts, Krall (1-0) tossed six innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on seven hits and walking two for Prairie View A&M (5-16, ).
Junior Antoine Mays led the way offensively for the Panthers, going 3-for-4 in the ballgame with two doubles and three RBI. Sophomore Blake Redman provided a standout effort as well, going 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Junior Tyran Norris also chipped in, going 3-for-4 for Prairie View A&M with a walk and two RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers scored in six different innings on the way to the win. Prairie View A&M broke a 0-0 tie and took the lead for good at 1-0 in the first inning The big hit for the Panthers in the inning was a one-run error off the bat of junior Derrek Lathon.
