GRAMBLING, La. --Sophomore Cailin Massey was dealing on Sunday, tossing a three-hit shutout to lead the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers past the Grambling Lady Tigers 3-0.
Massey (4-5) went the distance for Prairie View A&M (8-15, 7-0), giving up three hits, walking none, and striking out 10.
At the plate, the Lady Panthers were led by junior Biviana Figueroa, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a double and two RBI. Sophomore Aerin Talley furnished a standout performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk. Junior Audrey Garcia also chipped in for Prairie View A&M, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Panthers took the lead for good in the sixth, scoring for the first time in the inning. Prairie View A&M plated two runs off of Grambling pitching, one of which was driven in on a run-scoring double off the bat of Figueroa.
The Lady Panthers also added a run in the seventh inning to complete their scoring in the ballgame.
