FLOWOOD, Miss. – Sophomore
Jaden Thompson was the Panther's most consistent golfer leading Prairie View A&M to a sixth-place finish at the 2023 Southwestern Athletic Conference men's golf championship tournament at The Refuge Golf Course during the three-day event.
The Panthers finished with a team total of 908.
Thompson finished with a total score of 224 (76, 75, 73), placing him in 12
th place. Senior
Rondarius Walters finished three strokes behind Thompson completing the tournament with a 227 total score and a 19th-place finish.
After opening with a 75 on Monday, red-shirt senior
Jordan Stagg posted rounds of 76 and 77 and finished in a tie for 20
th place at 228. Freshman
Terry Jerome Moore, II finished in 23
rd place after shooting 76-80-73=229, while senior
Christian Latham who didn't play in the first-round shot 81-77 for a total score of 158 for a 29th-place finish.
The Panthers will participate in the PGA Works Collegiate Championship May 8-10 in Birmingham, Ala. To close out the 2023 athletic season.
