PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and never surrendered the advantage on the way to a 4-1 win against the Alcorn State Braves on Friday.
Junior Michael Dews (4-4) got the win for Prairie View A&M (15-22, 11-4). The right-hander went nine innings, giving up one run on seven hits, allowing two walks and striking out seven.
Offensively, the Panthers were led by senior Sebastian Coria, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a double and an RBI. Senior Alex Martinez compiled a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Freshman Ahmar Donatto also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together zero hits in two trips to the plate while adding two walks and an RBI.
