PRAIRIE VIEW – Friday officially marks the end of the pre-season training and the beginning of the regular season when Prairie View A&M plays Sam Houston State and Incarnate Word this weekend.
 
The Lady Panthers will start, with a match-up against non-conference opponent Sam Houston State on Friday, August 18 for a 6:30 p.m. kick in Huntsville, before going head-to-head against Incarnate Word on Sunday, at 1 p.m. in San Antonio inside of Benson Stadium.
 
The team has not faced the Bearkats since 2019, falling 1-0 on the PVAMU Soccer field.  A quick turnaround will take the Lady Panthers from Huntsville to San Antonio, where they will take on the Cardinals, which PVAMU has also not played since 2021 coming up just short of a 2-1 loss in the PVAMU Soccer Complex.
 
"In-state competitions will always prove to be great match-ups," said new head coach Abe Garcia of the impending games. "Both teams are definitely going to give us the competition that we're looking for early on in the season."

The Lady Panthers will return to campus following the Incarnate Word match-up and will have a week off from competitive play before taking on Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Friday, September 1 for their home opener.
