PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Prairie View A&M fell 35-20 to Grambling on the road Saturday night.
The Tigers improved to 3-2 on the year and 2-0 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play, while the Panthers fell to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in conference matchups.
Trazon Connley led Prairie View A&M's passing attack with 224 yards through the air.
Ahmad Antoine totaled 63 yards to lead the Panthers' ground attack and added one touchdown in the game, picking up 7 yards per carry along the way. Connor Wisham also tacked on 56 yards and one touchdown on the ground, picking up 11.2 yards per carry.
Connley's most prolific target in the ballgame was Trejon Spiller, who caught four passes for 109 yards.
Team showed out for the Prairie View A&M defense, recording . Jeremiah Harris added six tackles and Terell Coleman Jr. had three tackles in the loss.
How It Happened
JMU found itself down early 3-0, but fired back to take a 7-3 lead with 7:50 left in the first quarter.Grambling then cut into the Panthers lead and made it a 7-6 game, but the Panthers tacked on another score to extend the lead to 10-6.
Grambling fought back to take a 16-10 lead before Prairie View A&M put a field goal on the board to narrow the gap with 6:16 left in the third quarter and make it a 16-13 game.Grambling scored to increase its lead to 22-13 before the Panthers got on the scoreboard again to narrow the gap and make it a 22-20 game. Prairie View A&M didn't score again in the game and Grambling added 13 more points to finish off the scoring.
