Prairie View A&M's volleyball team is gearing up for their participation in the SWAC Championship Tournament on November 22, 2024, as they enter as the formidable #3 seed. The tournament, set to unfold in Grambling, LA, will kick off for the Panthers with a challenging encounter against the #6 Alabama State Hornets at 6:30 pm.
Under the guidance of Head Coach
Cheri Lindsay, the Panthers boast an impressive season record of 13-3 in SWAC play. The team's success has been largely propelled by the standout performances of key players such as
Kylee Owens, who leads the team with 355 kills, 47 aces, and 318 digs. Assisting her is
Leah Lawson with 444 assists to her name this season, while Kirsten Atkinson has been a defensive stalwart, leading with 81.0 blocks. The roster depth is further bolstered by notable contributions from
Janyah Henderson,
D'Mya Hill, and
Aliyah Levert, who have all played pivotal roles this season.
The Panthers are poised to extend their successful campaign into the postseason, drawing on their season's momentum and strategic prowess as they being to make their way to claim the championship title.
