PRAIRIE VIEW - The Prairie View A&M Panthers are gearing up for their next basketball face-off against the UAB Blazers slated for Friday, December 6, 2024. This game marks the sixth meeting between the two teams, with the history favoring the Blazers who lead the series 5-0.
The last encounter between the Panthers and Blazers was on November 20, 2012, at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Ala., and ended in a close 76-70 defeat for PVAMU. As the Panthers prepare for the upcoming game, they look to overturn their current season's challenging start and improve on their 1-6 record under the guidance of Head Coach
Byron Smith.
Facing a Blazers team with a slightly better season at 4-5, the Panthers aim to capitalize on their lessons from past games. UAB, coached by Andy Kennedy, also anticipates a competitive game as they try to bolster their record. Both teams have undergone numerous changes since their last meeting, setting the stage for an exciting renewal of their basketball rivalry.
