COVINGTON, Ga. --Prairie View A&M ran into a buzzsaw in the circle Saturday as junior J. Davis tossed a no-hitter for North Carolina Central, leading the Eagles over the Panthers 9-0.
Junior Halley Elizarraras (0-2) started and took the loss in the circle for Prairie View A&M (2-7). Senior Mya Hall was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 1.1 shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking none, and striking out four.
Offensively, the Panthers were paced by sophomore Mia Nunez, who went 0-for-1 on the day with a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Prairie View A&M did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Panthers went 0-for-1 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the first when Nunez made it into scoring position with two outs.
