BATON ROUGE, La., --Junior Cailin. Massey was dealing on Saturday, tossing a two-hit shutout to lead the Prairie View A&M Panthers past the Southern Jaguars 18-0.
Massey (4-5) went the distance for Prairie View A&M (11-13,6-0 SWAC), giving up two hits, walking one and striking out five.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Prairie View A&M's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a two-run single off the bat of junior Aerin Talley.
The Panthers then tacked on runs in the fourth and fifth innings, with their biggest output coming in the fourth when they scored nine times. That nine-run inning included two Prairie View A&M home runs.
