PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --It was a closely contested match-up, but Prairie View A&M's one-run fifth inning proved to be the difference, as the Panthers emerged with a victory on Saturday, beating the Texas Southern Tigers 2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Prairie View A&M got an RBI single from senior Karina Cisneros, scoring senior Audry Fleming from second base.
The score stayed at 1-1 until the very next inning, when the Panthers put runs on the scoreboard once again. Senior Jaylyn Davis came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M, which brought the score to 2-1 in favor of the Panthers. The score remained 2-1 for the rest of the game, as Prairie View A&M held on for the win.
