HOUSTON, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers struggled on Tuesday, falling to the Rice Owls by a final score of 6-1.
Freshman Corey Battey (0-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Prairie View A&M (6-6). Senior Devin Aguado was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 2.1 shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking two, and striking out one.
At the plate, the Panthers were led by junior Tyran Norris, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a home run and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Norris put Prairie View A&M on the board with a leadoff home run-off junior Robert Fernandez. The Panthers were unable to hold the lead, as Rice scored six times over the remaining seven innings to grab the 6-1 win.
