2024 scrimmage 1

Practice Nine; First Fall Football Scrimmage

8/10/2024 11:54:00 AM

PRAIRIE VIEW -   Although the Panther football team has had eight practices today's brief first scrimmage was quite enlightening under the watchful eyes of several Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) football officials.

The Panthers began Saturday morning with their usual warm-ups under the early bright sun rays at Panther Stadium.  There were some bright spots for the offense but you definitely can't take anything away from the fast-lightening defense.  Head Coach Bubba McDowell elaborated on how evenly he thought both sides of the ball played.

"I saw a lot of progress today," McDowell said.  "There are still some things that we can improve on from all positions, but the opportunities were there and that's a good thing.  I am proud of today's performance but again we must ensure that we take care of our due diligence and give 100 percent.  Every day I look for each player to come out here and be better than he was the day before.  Offensively, we did drop a few passes early, which shows that we still have a few kinks that we need to work on before the Labor Day Classic on August 31 outside of that I saw a lot of good ball play."

The Panthers will return to practice on Monday, August 12 at 9 a.m.

The 2024 single-game tickets are on sale now.   A Clear bag policy is in place, and Panther Stadium is also cashless (tickets and concessions are all cashless).  The gates are set to open two hours prior to game time with the Panther Walk set for 3:25 pm in front of the MSC.
