Both men's and women's cross country teams put on a commendable display at the UT Tyler XC Opener in Tyler, Texas. Competing against multiple universities, both the men's and women's teams showcased their athletic skills at this high-energy varsity event.

The men's team finished a strong third, trailing only Harding and host UT Tyler in the competitive 4-mile race. Standout performer Noah Green secured the 11th position with a commendable time of 21:16.00. Thierry Garcon also made a remarkable mark by finishing in the top 20, clocking a time of 21:25.90, contributing significantly to the team's overall success.

On the women's side, the team finished fourth in the 5k race. Lea Murphy led the team with a tenth-place finish, posting a time of 20:35.77. Additionally, Miracle Price finished among the top 25, recording a time of 21:38.14, showing depth and talent on the women's squad as well.

In their next meet, the team will compete locally at the 48th Rice Invitational hosted by Rice University in Houston, Texas, on September 13, 2024. The teams are looking to build on their performances and continue their competitive season with the same vigor and determination.
