Prairie View A&M Panthers Conclude Participation in the 14th Annual Prairie View Invitational

The Prairie View A&M Panthers wrapped up their competition at the prestigious 14th Annual Prairie View Invitational on January 26, 2025, at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington, Texas.

During the last day of the competition, the Panthers faced off against Vanderbilt in a traditional setup before the bracket rounds, enduring a tough loss with a score of 889-1035. Despite the setback, they advanced to compete in the bracket round starting from the 11th position. Their first match in this stage pitted them against Duquesne University, where they recorded another loss with a score of 908-1013. However, the team found a silver lining as they bounced back in their subsequent game against Texas Southern, securing a win with a score of 817-683.

Amani Moore and Jayda Gordon were the leaders of the team for the competition. Moore totaled 1126 pins, averaging 186.67, while Gordon was close behind had a total of 1105 pins with an average of 184.17. Both bowlers were among the top 40 at the invitational.

The Panthers will next head to D'Iberville, Mississippi for the SWAC East Round Up scheduled for February 7, 2025, where they hope to leverage the experience gained at the Prairie View Invitational to enhance their performance.

About the Prairie View Invitational: The Prairie View Invitational was started by former head coach Glen White. This competition consists of the top 10 bowling teams in the NCAA to compete among each other, along with the host team, Prairie View A&M, and the most recent SWAC champion or a HBCU team. Many of the teams that compete at the Prairie View Invitational have won many NCAA championships, and have competed in the NCAA bowling championships. With the amount of high ranked teams competing, the invitational is considered as one of the biggest and most competitive bowling tournaments in the NCAA.
