Prairie View A&M Set to Host Lincoln University Oaklanders for 2025 Homecoming Matchup

Panthers return home after impressive road win at Southern

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Prairie View A&M University Panthers return home for Homecoming 2025 as they welcome the Lincoln University (CA) Oaklanders to Panther Stadium at Blackshear Field on Saturday, October 25. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.

Saturday's contest marks the first-ever meeting between Prairie View A&M and Lincoln University. The match up gives the Panthers an opportunity to build on recent momentum and celebrate Homecoming in front of Panther Nation.

The Panthers (3–3, 2–2 SWAC) enter the weekend on the heels of a dominant 24–3 victory over Southern University on October 18 in Baton Rouge. Prairie View spoiled the Jaguars' Homecoming behind a stingy defensive effort that limited Southern to just 81 passing yards and a relentless ground attack that controlled the tempo. Head Coach Tremaine Jackson, in his first season leading the Panthers, continues to see his team develop confidence and consistency on both sides of the ball.

Players to Watch

  • QB Cameron Peters (Sr.) – The veteran quarterback has provided leadership and poise, highlighted by his game-winning touchdown pass in the Labor Day Classic against Texas Southern and steady play throughout October.
  • WR Jyzaiah Rockwell (So.) – Emerging as PVAMU's top receiving threat, Rockwell brings explosive speed and reliable hands, leading the team in receiving yards and touchdown catches.
  • WR Ja'Koby Banks (Jr.) – A dynamic all-purpose receiver who contributes both in the passing game and on special teams.
  • DB Travor Randle (Gr.) – The defensive leader in the secondary continues to make key stops and disrupt passing attacks.
  • CB Kamren Amao (Sr.) – A consistent presence on defense who routinely matches up against opponents' top receivers.

Scouting Lincoln University (CA)
Lincoln enters the contest as one of the newest collegiate football programs in the country. The Oaklanders, competing as an independent, are led by head coach Desmond Gumbs. Despite being a young program, Lincoln has gained valuable experience by scheduling multiple Division I opponents throughout the 2025 season. Saturday's match up provides the Oaklanders a chance to test themselves against an established SWAC opponent.

Up Next
Following Homecoming weekend, the Panthers will return to conference play as they travel to face Alabama A&M on November 1 in Huntsville.
