MONTGOMERY, AL --The Prairie View A&M volleyball team displayed impressive fortitude in a 3-2 win against the Alabama State Lady Hornets Friday on the road at Lockhart Gymnasium.
The victory improved the Lady Panthers' record to 12-11 overall and 9-1 in SWAC play.
The Lady Panthers were led by a double-double from Kylee Owens, who registered 13 kills and 15 digs on the day. D'Mya Hill also added 20 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Leila Smalls chipped in for with 20 digs to go with six blocks from Valencia Wilder.

SET 2 | Prairie View A&M tied the match at 1-1 following a 25-20 set-two win. The Lady Panthers grabbed the advantage for good at 15-14 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Lady Panthers took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 3 | Alabama State responded to win set number three, putting Prairie View A&M in a two sets to one hole. The Lady Panthers dropped the set 25-18 in spite of a strong performance on the attacking end. Prairie View A&M put together a .344 attack percentage with 15 kills in the set loss.

The Lady Panthers took a 1-0 lead and never looked back in set five to earn the victory. Prairie View A&M opened up as much as a five point lead at 7-2 before finishing off the set.
