HUNTSVILLE, AL --The Prairie View A&M volleyball team took down the Alabama A&M Bulldogs in five sets (25-27, 25-18, 23-25, 25-17, 15-12) Sunday on the road at Elmore Gymnasium.
The victory improved the Lady Panthers' record to 13-11 overall and 10-1 in SWAC play.
The Lady Panthers were led by a double-double from Kylee Owens, who registered 19 kills and 14 digs on the day. D'Mya Hill also added 15 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Leila Smalls chipped in for with 31 digs to go with three blocks from Iyonna Sherwood.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Panthers battled back from a seven-point 17-10 hole, but Alabama A&M held on to win the first set 27-25.
SET 2 | Prairie View A&M fired back after dropping the first set to take set two 25-18, evening the match at one set apiece. The Lady Panthers never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 12-11 in a set that showcased four lead changes before Prairie View A&M took over the lead.
SET 3 | Prairie View A&M dropped the third set, putting the Lady Panthers in a 2-1 hole. The Lady Panthers dropped the set 25-23 in spite of a solid showing on the attacking side. Prairie View A&M registered a .314 attack percentage with 15 kills in the set loss.
SET 4 | Prairie View A&M then responded to win set four 25-17 to force a fifth set. The Lady Panthers took control of the set at 3-2 and never looked back. Prairie View A&M ended the stanza on a high note by opening up its biggest lead, eight points, to close out the set.
SET 5 | Down two sets to one, Prairie View A&M powered back to win the final two sets, culminating in a 15-12 fifth-set victory, to take the match 3-2. The Lady Panthers survived a back-and-forth final set to emerge victorious in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied nine times. Neither team led by more than three points in the set.
