BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference will host its annual SWAC Men's Basketball Media Day on Wednesday, October 8, beginning at 10:00 a.m. CST at the Embassy Suites in Birmingham, Alabama.

The event serves as the official tipoff to the 2025-26 men's basketball season, featuring all 12 SWAC head coaches and select student-athletes from across the league. Attendees will engage with media to preview the upcoming season, discuss team goals, and highlight key storylines ahead of another exciting year of SWAC hoops. Representing Prairie View A&M University, head men's basketball coach Byron Smith will be joined by Lance Williams and Cory Wells. The group will share insights on offseason development, team chemistry, and the Panthers' determination to compete at the top of the conference once again.
