PRAIRIE VIEW - Prairie View A&M senior quarterback
Cameron Peters has earned a clean sweep of weekly honors after being named the
HBCU FCS National Player of the Week,
BOXTOROW National Player of the Week, and
SWAC Offensive Player of the Week following his standout performance in the Panthers' 48-5 victory over Alabama A&M.
Â
The Missouri City, Texas native delivered a career performance, completing 17-of-22 passes for 394 yards and five touchdowns, while adding 36 rushing yards on seven carries to finish with 430 total yards of offense. His five-touchdown effort powered the Panthers to a decisive road win, helping them maintain their lead in the SWAC West Division.
Three of Peters' touchdown passes went to wide receiver Jyzaiah Rockwell, as Prairie View A&M's offense dominated from start to finish. Peters' 302.7 passer rating was the highest by any FCS quarterback this season against a Division I opponent, and his 23.2 yards per completion ranked third-best at that level.
Peters will be highlighted this week on the nationally syndicated BOXTOROW with Donal Ware, which recognizes top HBCU football performances nationwide.
With his exceptional play, Peters continues to cement his place as one of the top quarterbacks in HBCU football as the Panthers push toward a SWAC Championship berth.
