TALLAHASSEE, FL --The Prairie View A&M volleyball team took the first set, but couldn't hold on and lost 3-1 (25-20, 27-29, 21-25, 21-25) to the Florida A&M Rattlers Friday at Lawson Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium in the SWAC quarterfinals volleyball tournament.
The game dropped Prairie View A&M to 18-12 on the season.
The Lady Panthers offense was paced by Kylee Owens, who finished with 23 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .333, and by D'Mya Hill, who had 11. got 14 digs from Leila Smalls along with five blocks from Adlene Jideofor to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Panthers opened up an early one set to none lead, winning the first set 25-20. Prairie View A&M never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 11-10 in a set that showcased three lead changes before the Lady Panthers took over the lead. The Lady Panthers opening set win came in a stanza where they hit .300. Prairie View A&M also supplemented their offense with three aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Prairie View A&M then fell in the second set 29-27, tying the match at a set apiece. The Lady Panthers dropped set two despite a solid showing on the attacking side. Prairie View A&M registered a .317 attack percentage with 20 kills in the set loss.
SET 3 | Prairie View A&M then dropped their second set in a row, falling behind in the match two sets to one. The Lady Panthers fell in a back-and-forth battle, losing 25-21 in a set that featured two lead changes and was tied nine times. Neither team had a lead of more than four points along the way.
SET 4 | Prairie View A&M lost the fourth set and the match, falling 25-21. The Lady Panthers lost the set despite a strong performance on the attacking end. Prairie View A&M registered a .314 attack percentage with 13 kills in the set loss.
