Prairie View A&M shoots 57.1 percent from deep, loses to LSU 104-90

BATON ROUGE, LA --The Prairie View A&M men's basketball team shot 57.1 percent from deep, but fell to the LSU Tigers 104-90 on the road Monday.

The Panthers (5-7) had three players score in double figures, led by Tai'Reon Joseph, who had 34 points. Dontae Horne tacked on 24 points, five assists and two steals and Joey Madimba chipped in as well with 16 points and seven rebounds off of the bench.

How It Happened

After falling behind 42-38, Prairie View A&M went on a 6-0 run with 6:01 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Horne, to take a 44-42 lead. The Panthers then added three points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 56-51 advantage. Prairie View A&M relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down 10 shots to account for 30 of its 56 points.

LSU proceeded to take a 101-84 lead before Prairie View A&M went on a 6-0 run to shrink the deficit to 101-90 with 1:24 to go in the contest. LSU responded and outscored the Panthers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 104-90. Prairie View A&M got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 10 of its 34 total points.

» The Panthers made over half of their attempts from three point range, knocking down 12 of 21 shots.
