AUSTIN, TX --Cj Wilson scored 21 points and Jacque Giron had 12 more, but the Lady Panthers fell to the Texas Longhorns 101-42 on the road Sunday.

Wilson led the Lady Panthers (2-6) with 21 points and six rebounds. Giron tacked on 12 points and Crystal Schultz helped out with four points from the bench.

Prairie View A&M's defense held Texas to only 8.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

How It Happened

Prairie View A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 29-15 at the end of the first quarter.

The Lady Panthers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 40-25 halftime deficit.

Prairie View A&M's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Lady Panthers faced a 72-32 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Prairie View A&M's bench made the most of its minutes in the period, as non-starters totaled four of the team's seven third-quarter points.

Prairie View A&M could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 101-42. Prairie View A&M took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring six of its 10 points in the paint.
