The Prairie View A&M Panthers' men's tennis team encountered a challenging day on the courts on Saturday, as they hosted the Lamar Cardinals in Prairie View, Texas. The match ended in favor of Lamar, who clinched victory over the Panthers with notable performances in both singles and doubles competitions.

In singles play, Abdulraheem Isa of Prairie View A&M delivered a commendable performance in a nail-biting three-set battle, ultimately losing to Fabian Anthin with scores of 7-5, 3-6, 10-8. Xavier Peter-Gooding also put up a valiant effort against Louis Drapeau but fell short after an intensely contested match, ending with scores of 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-10. These matches highlighted the resilience and competitive spirit of the Panthers despite the tough outcomes.

Doubles action saw another fierce contest where Prairie View A&M's duo, Xavier Peter-Gooding and Abdulraheem Isa, was bested by Lamar's Fabian Anthin and Guy Dagan with a score of 6-4. The synergy and teamwork displayed were commendable, albeit not sufficient to secure a win this time.

Additional recognition was given to Eduardo Nunez Prado, who, despite a challenging match against Leon Nickel, showed strong determination. The final scores were 0-6, 1-6, marking another tough round for Panther athletes.
The current season record now stands at 2-17 for Prairie View A&M, a testament to the ongoing struggles but also to the undying spirit of the Panthers' tennis team as they continue to compete at the collegiate level. Fans remain hopeful for a turnaround as the season progresses, looking to build on the hard lessons learned from such games.

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - In a challenging regular match doubleheader on March 21, 2025, the Prairie View A&M Panthers men's tennis team experienced a tough day on their home courts as they were defeated by the Lamar Cardinals with a score of 4-0.

The Panthers, representing Prairie View A&M, couldn't overcome the solid performances from the Cardinals' players. Standout singles matches saw Stefano Chappuis of Lamar dominate against Ashton Bunch from Prairie View A&M with a score of 6-1, 6-0. In another match, Santiago Ledesma from Lamar secured a decisive victory over Ryan Boone of Prairie View A&M with identical sets of 6-0, 6-0.

Despite this setback, the Panthers are looking ahead to their next challenge. They will hit the road to face Alabama State in Montgomery, Ala., on March 28, 2025. Holding a current season record of 2-19, Prairie View A&M is eager to turn their fortunes around in the upcoming events.
