Lady Panthers Secure Third Place at National Women's Collegiate Golf Championship

KATY, TX - In a spirited display of skill and determination, the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers clinched third place at the 2025 National Women's Collegiate Golf Championship Event held April 1-2 in Katy, Texas. The Lady Panthers, representing Prairie View A&M University, faced tough competition under slightly windy conditions and a warm 82 degrees but managed to outshine numerous contenders, finishing with a commendable score of +66.

The tournament saw various universities competing, with Howard University taking the top spot followed by Alabama State University. The Lady Panthers stood out with their consistent play across the board, tallying scores of 304, 306, and 308 for a total of 918, effectively sealing their third-place position.

Team member Nevaeh Figueroa led the individual performances for the Lady Panthers, attaining the remarkable 10th position overall with a consistent score of 76 across three rounds, totaling +15. Close behind were Briann Briggs and Kacey Menyoli, finishing with scores of +17 and +20 respectively. Other notable performances included Micaiah Joubert and Madison Williams, who also contributed significantly to the team's success.

As they celebrate this achievement, the Lady Panthers are already looking ahead to their next challenge at the Texas A&M Invite scheduled for April 7, 2025, at the Traditions Club of Texas A&M in Bryan-College Station, Texas. The team remains focused and eager to maintain their strong form in the upcoming competitions.
