BEAUMONT, TX --The Prairie View A&M volleyball team could not overcome an opposing Cardinals offense Tuesday on the road losing to Lamar in straight sets (16-25, 18-25, 21-25).
The non-conference loss moved Prairie View A&M to 0-4 on the season.
Kylee Owens finished with 12 kills on the day to lead the Lady Panthers offense. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Leila Smalls had 11 and Tayler Ruffin had 10.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Panthers found themselves in an early deficit, losing a tough first set 25-16. Prairie View A&M trailed by as many as nine points as Lamar grabbed the advantage for good at 16-15 in a set that was tied up 10 times before the Cardinals took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | Prairie View A&M dropped set two 25-18, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. The Lady Panthers fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Lamar finished off the sweep with a third-set victory. The Lady Panthers came up short by the score of 25-21. Lamar grabbed the advantage for good at 17-16 in a set that was tied up eight times before the Cardinals took over in the second half of the stanza.
